First Blog Ever

I have decided to create a blog/journal for myself to reflect and share my life with family and friends (If they care to know the details). I just graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in Communication Studies. Now that I'm finished with that, I'm trying to figure out what I want to do with my life; where I'm supposed to go from here. I've had sometime to reflect about my loves, my life, and my dreams. My Loves/Life in a nut-shell:

Family Love-My family is incredible. My parents gave me such an amazing gift when they decided to begin a life abroad. Traveling the world allowed me to dream outside "the box" (in which so many people find themselves trapped in); I can dream about building a life anywhere in the world! My parents also encouraged their children to have our own thoughts and ideas. I predict this is the reason we are so different. Our similarities lie in our kind hearts, our love of art, and our limitless ability to dream. But as we get older, the paths we chose to take are very different- because my parents gave us the courage and confidence to pursue the lives we want for ourselves.

Drew Love-(Caution: Lovey dovey stuff ahead) Now this is the time to gush like a teenage girl. My best friend, lover, and partner, Drew is exactly the kind of man I have always wanted to share my life with. Years ago one of my favorite teachers instructed me to find a man with "a heart of gold". She told me that if I settled for anything less, I would be cheating myself out of happiness. Fortunately I didn't have to wait 10 or 20 years to find it. Drew's goodness inspires me to be a better person-it reminds me that there are truly good people in the world. Drew and I were friends for about a year before we started dating (It took a year before I let my walls down and trusted him with my heart). Drew and I have become best friends and partners in the last year and a half. I am so thankful to have him in my life. We live, laugh, and dream together; It's pretty awesome.

Puppy Love- What can I say? I love dogs! My Schatzi loves attention, kisses, toys that squeak, and treats. I have been trying to become an amateur dog trainer this summer. Schatzi and I have been working hard to learn tricks! She will do anything for a piece of hotdog. She will do almost anything for a piece of banana :)

BIG NEWS! Schatzi can finally go up our steep STEEP stairs in the new house. Now we need to work on going down...Schatzi with her cousins Bella and Shay.

Of course I love babies! Children are such miracles. It is so rewarding to watch a child learn something new. I hope to spend much of my life working with children- in a school or at home with my own kids. My nephew Peter is such a light in our lives. I love how kids are amazed by the simplest things (bubbles, balloons, balls).
